ECO2 CONSOLE

Hi everyone, great to be discussing control room consoles with you again. Some clients often question why our control consoles are priced higher, usually comparing them to regular office furniture and finding the cost hard to accept. So, what really drives the price of control consoles? Let’s explore the key factors together.

We will explore two key aspects: the cost of the control room console itself and the intangible costs from production to sales.

Cost Of Control Room Consoles Itself

Expenses for equipment usage, maintenance, utilities like electricity and water

Wages and benefits for workers during the production process

Expenses for equipment usage, maintenance, utilities like electricity and water

Materials and design fees for the final packaging of the product

Costs for shipping the product from production to the destination port, including warehousing and handling

Expenses for product design, testing, and improvements

Testing to ensure the consoles meet standards and quality requirements

Government-imposed fees like VAT and customs duties during production and sales

The value accumulated through a company’s long-term efforts in building brand image, reputation, and market recognition. While difficult to calculate directly, this influences consumer trust and purchase decisions

These include the development, maintenance, and use of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Such intangible assets give the company a competitive edge

Investment in developing new technologies and products. Although these investments may not yield immediate returns, they drive product innovation and differentiation

The efforts required to enter new markets, regions, or customer segments, including market research and establishing sales channels

Investment in training and improving employee skills, especially in high-tech industries where professional expertise is a key competitive advantage

Building a positive corporate culture and improving management capabilities, which lead to long-term competitiveness. This culture can enhance employee satisfaction and loyalty, indirectly affecting product quality and service

The investment needed to establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers, including after-sales services, customer feedback handling, and loyalty program

Costs incurred by the company to fulfill its environmental and social responsibilities, such as sustainable production and social welfare activities. These efforts influence the company’s reputation and market position

Add Your Heading Text Here Which of these costs do you think is the most important?
Yes, it's the material of the control room console itself!

Our focus is on having a workstation that meets our requirements, so I'm most concerned with the actual product.
So, what are the material cost components of a control room console?

  • Desktop
    • MDF with Laminate
      • MDF base material, 25mm thick, with melamine laminate.
      • MDF base material, 25mm thick, with fire-resistant laminate.
      • Note that the thickness refers to the entire panel, not just edge reinforcement. Lamination can be either single-sided or double-sided (whether both top and bottom surfaces are laminated).
    • Compact Laminate (HPL)
      • Typical thicknesses are 15mm or 18mm. Popular brands include Formica and Wilsonart.
      • Due to its inherent properties, compact laminate doesn’t require additional surface treatment, making it more expensive than MDF with laminate.
    • Metal Desktop
      • Less common than wooden desktops due to its unique characteristics.
      • Stainless steel desktop.
      • Steel desktop.

    • Decorative accessories.
    • Functional accessories (e.g., height-adjustable systems).
    • Other accessories.
  • Front/Back Doors & Side Panels
    • Wooden Panels
      • Advantages: High customizability, allows for more design variations.
      • Disadvantages: Prone to warping, less efficient at ventilation compared to metal.
    • Metal Panels
      • Advantages: Excellent ventilation and heat dissipation, easier and more aesthetic perforation, resistant to deformation, sturdy and durable.
      • Disadvantages: Heavier than wood, higher cost for complex designs.
  • Optional Accessories
    • Monitor mounts.
    • Multifunctional media box on the desktop.
    • Pull-out keyboard tray.
    • PDU (Power Distribution Unit).

All right, that’s all for today. I hope this helps you choose the right control console. Next time, let’s dive deeper into the topic of console materials.
